GoodShip* Activation 06 / Collaborative Knowledge Sharing

Less hype. More useful conversations.

AI is moving quickly.
The conversation around it often moves even faster.

AI & Tech for Good is an ongoing collaboration between GoodShip* and Generative Minds UK, creating practical conversations around how AI and emerging technology can make a genuine difference.

Activated through KinShip, it brings together people from business, education, healthcare, creative industries, technology and community to explore real problems, opportunities and questions.

Where is this actually useful?

Panel discussion at a GoodShip* AI & Tech for Good session, with speakers answering questions from the audience.

There is no shortage of predictions, tools, demonstrations, fear, hype.

What can be harder to find is space to ask the questions underneath all of it.

And what happens when people who understand the technology meet people who understand the problem?

  • Where is this actually useful?
  • What should we be questioning?
  • What does responsible adoption look like?
  • What happens when the technology meets the problem?

That is the space AI & Tech for Good is designed to create.

How it works.

Each activation takes a real theme and brings together different perspectives around it.

The aim is not to run another AI conference. It is to make the technology practical, accessible, questionable and human.

Live AI demonstrations
Real tools, used in the room, in front of people who can ask why.
Practitioner stories
People describing what they actually did, including what did not work.
Expert panels
Different disciplines in conversation rather than a single point of view.
Challenging questions
Space for scepticism, ethics and the awkward questions people avoid.
Audience discussion
The room contributes. Attendees are participants, not spectators.
Practical tools & knowledge
Things people can take away and use the following week.

What we’ve explored.

Since launching, AI & Tech for Good has moved across different sectors and questions.

Each session starts somewhere different, but the principle stays the same.

  • AI and business processes
  • open-source AI
  • healthcare
  • creativity and marketing
  • storytelling
  • education
  • responsible adoption
  • practical AI tools and workflows

Start with the problem, not the technology.

The partnership.

AI & Tech for Good is not a GoodShip* broadcast. It is a genuine collaboration, with each partner bringing something the other does not have.

Generative Minds UK
Applied AI expertise, emerging technology, technical experimentation and live demonstrations.
GoodShip*
Strategy, curation, community, storytelling, hosting, audience development and activation.

Together we create rooms where

  • people who understand the technology
  • meet people who understand the problem

Co-created and co-delivered by GoodShip* and Generative Minds UK.

Activated through KinShip.

AI & Tech for Good sits within KinShip, GoodShip*’s wider community and knowledge-sharing platform.

That matters because the value is not only what happens on stage.

  • who meets
  • who shares
  • who questions
  • who discovers something new
  • who continues the conversation afterwards

The activation is designed to create connections between sectors that do not always naturally meet.

What it creates.

AI & Tech for Good has become a repeatable platform for knowledge sharing.

It also creates routes into wider GoodShip* activity: AI Activator, KinShip, Navigate, education and skills programmes, client innovation projects.

  • Practical learning

People leave with something they can use, not just something they heard.

  • Responsible AI conversations

Adoption discussed alongside ethics, risk and real-world consequence.

  • Cross-sector collaboration

Sectors that rarely meet end up working on the same question.

  • New connections

Relationships that continue long after the session ends.

  • Community growth

Each activation widens the KinShip community and its knowledge.

  • Emerging ideas

Questions raised in the room become projects, programmes and experiments.

The room in between.

We are not trying to tell people that AI will solve everything.

And we are not interested in telling them it will destroy everything either.

We are interested in creating the room in between, so people leave with a clearer idea of what AI might actually mean for them.

01

See something practical

Real tools and real workflows, demonstrated rather than described.

02

Ask a difficult question

Scepticism is welcome. Ethics, risk and consequence belong in the room.

03

Hear a different perspective

Business, education, healthcare, creative, technology and community, together.

04

Meet someone outside your network

The connections made afterwards often matter more than the session itself.

Impact focus.

Every activation is measured against the same question we ask of all GoodShip* Activations: what changed because this existed?

  • Knowledge sharing
  • Practical AI
  • Community
  • Responsible innovation
  • Skills
  • Collaboration
  • Connection

Questions people ask.
