There's something really special about seeing an idea come to life. From the first conversations and rough sketches to watching your designs become part of something much bigger. And this week, we've had some brilliant news!

Our work on the Liverpool Innovation & Impact Awards has been shortlisted for a Prolific North Marketing Award 2026 in the Best B2B Marketing Campaign category.

As a creative, it's one of those moments that makes you stop, smile and reflect on everything that's gone into a project. Because behind every brand, campaign and piece of design, there's a story, and this one has been a real team effort.

Brand Identity and Design: More Than Just a New Look

When we started working with Liverpool Chamber, the challenge wasn't simply to give an existing awards programme a new look. It was about reimagining what the awards could become and creating an identity that reflected the incredible innovation, creativity and positive impact happening across Liverpool City Region.

I had the pleasure of designing the icons and visual identity, bringing together different ideas into something that felt fresh, confident and full of personality. Each icon needed to have its own character while feeling part of the same family, helping to tell the stories behind the different award categories.

Awards Icons

For me, that's what makes design exciting. It's not just about making something look good. It's about creating something people recognise, connect with and remember. Seeing those original designs come to life across the website, social media and campaign materials has been incredibly rewarding.

Creative Direction and Storytelling: Bringing Ideas Together

Great creative work is never just about one person, and that's something I really value about being part of GoodShip*.

A huge shout out to John Whalley, whose brilliant typography and support with the creative direction helped give the identity its personality. Typography can completely change how a brand feels, and John's contribution helped bring everything together.

Then there's Gavin Sherratt, who pulled all the different pieces together, shaping the bigger story and making sure the creative work had a clear purpose and message behind it. Because even the best design needs a reason to exist.

City Icons

And, of course, the incredible Liverpool Chamber team, who took the identity, ideas and story and brought the whole campaign to life. From engaging businesses and sponsors to activating the campaign across the city region, their work turned our creative thinking into something that people could really get behind.

Rebranding and Campaign Activation: Turning Creativity Into Impact

What makes this recognition even more special is seeing the results. This wasn't just a rebrand. It was about repositioning and reimagining the awards, creating something that genuinely celebrates the businesses, people and ideas making a difference across Liverpool City Region.

And with record-breaking results for the relaunched awards, it's brilliant to see how creativity, collaboration and storytelling can translate into real impact.

That's one of the things I love most about working in the creative industry. You get to take an idea, experiment with it, challenge it, build on it with other people and eventually see it become something that makes a difference.

Celebrating Liverpool's Creative and Marketing Community

It's also fantastic to see so many other organisations from Liverpool City Region recognised in the Prolific North shortlist. We have an incredible creative community here, and sometimes we're so busy working on the next thing that we forget to celebrate what we've already achieved.

I'm really proud to have played a part in this project alongside John, Gavin, the GoodShip* crew and everyone at Liverpool Chamber. It's been a brilliant reminder of what can happen when talented people bring their different skills and ideas together.

We'll find out who takes home the awards in Manchester on 19th November 2026, so fingers crossed we can bring another one home!

But whatever happens, there's already plenty to celebrate.

Good design tells a story. Great collaboration helps that story travel further.
